Vancouver Police are investigating the city’s third pedestrian fatality of the year after an 85-year-old Vancouver man died last week after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month.

The man was walking in a lane in the area of West Boulevard and 43rd Avenue on March 7 when he was struck by a driver who was backing out of a parking lot into the lane.

The man was transported to hospital. He died as a result of his injuries on March 12. The driver, a 51-year-old Delta man, stopped after the collision and is cooperating with the police investigation.
