Vancouver Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing In Downtown Eastside

The Canadian Press, 09 Aug, 2015 12:54 PM
Vancouver police are investigating a homicide in the Downtown Eastside.

Officers responded just after 6 p.m. to a report of a stabbing in the area of East Hastings Street and Main Street.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says when officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound.

He says paramedics rushed the man to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The 47 year-old victim is known to police and investigators say he appears to have been targeted.

No arrests have been made in the case, and police say the victim's name is not being released at this time.

The incident follows two separate stabbings in Vancouver and Burnaby on Friday night that sent four men to hospital.
