Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating a homicide in the Downtown Eastside.
Officers were called to an SRO hotel near East Hastings and Carrall Street shortly before 7 a.m. today and discovered a man who was deceased. The victim has not been identified.
There is no ongoing risk to the public.

VPD officers responded to Granville and Robson Street around 6 p.m. Monday, after a witness reported seeing a man with a gun inside a bar. Marcus Phillip Van Schilt, 45, is now charged with possession of a weapon and breaching bail.

Zachary Armitage was sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole for 25 years for the first-degree murder of Martin Payne in what B.C. Taren was involved in the community through sports including wrestling, kabaddi, and weightlifting with hopes to join the police force in the future.
