Vancouver Police Investigate Downtown Eastside Art Heist

Darpan News Desk , 17 Nov, 2016 01:07 PM
Vancouver Police are asking the public to help them find paintings stolen from ACME Studios in the Downtown Eastside.

The four canvas paintings were stolen from an art studio at 112 East Hastings Street between Sunday morning on November 13th, and Tuesday evening on November 15th. Due to the uniqueness of the paintings, investigators are confident the public can help find them.

“This artwork is original and eye-catching,” says VPD Constable Jason Doucette. “Someone will recognize these paintings. We hope they do the right thing and contact police or Crime Stoppers so we can return the artwork to its owners.”

Anyone who has any information about theft or the whereabouts of the paintings is asked to contact the VPD Property Crime Unit at 604-717-9061, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
