  • Vancouver Police have arrested the alleged driver in a hit-and-run collision that killed a 24-year-old pedestrian in Kitsilano.

VANCOUVER - Police say they have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighbourhood.

A statement from police says a 25-year-old suspect was taken into custody at his south Vancouver home on Monday after "significant information" was received from the public.

The statement also says a 63-year-old member of the alleged driver's family was arrested at the same time.

Police say an investigation is underway to determine if the second person acted as an accomplice following the crash.

A damaged, newer model grey sedan was found several hours after the crash and police say the investigation is ongoing but charges have not yet been approved.

Police say a 24-year-old man died at the scene after being hit and thrown dozens of metres while crossing a street late Sunday.
