Vancouver police say they've charged an 18-year-old man in the death of another teenager following a Friday night assault.
Police say the suspect was arrested in downtown Vancouver early Sunday.
He has been charged with manslaughter and remains in custody.
On Friday night, police say 19-year-old Vancouver resident Dakota Saje Wildeman-McNeil was assaulted with a weapon.
They say he was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
This is Vancouver's third homicide of 2019.
"My daughter Riya was taken from me too early," Priya Ramdin, who did not attend the vigil, said in a statement read by Peel police Deputy Chief Chris McCord.
