Vancouver Police Arrest Amandeep Singh Grewal, 21, In Granville Street Stabbing

Darpan, 05 Jul, 2016 12:44 PM
Charges have been approved after one man was arrested by the Vancouver Police following a stabbing in the Granville Entertainment District.

Shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Saturday July 2nd, two men were fighting inside a bar on Granville Street near Davie Street.

Staff removed the two men from the bar, but they again began to throw punches on the street until one of them allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the other multiple times.

Police arrived and located the 27-year-old victim covered in blood. He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Some reports of the stabbing suggested police were still looking for a suspect in this incident. In fact, officers stopped and arrested a man believed to be involved a short distance away.

Twenty-one-year-old Vancouver resident Amandeep Singh Grewal has been charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 27th.
