  • Vancouver Police are investigating report of a man throwing a glass bottle at a baby in a stroller

Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating an attack on a baby in a stroller, and are appealing for the baby’s parents or guardians to call police.

Police received a report of a man throwing a glass bottle at the baby on June 27 around 4:30 p.m., at the intersection of Davie and Bidwell. The caller indicated the bottle didn’t hit the baby, but the contents were splashed on both the baby and the adults who were with him.

“This attack appears to be completely unprovoked, and must have been terrifying for everyone involved,” says Constable Tania Visintin. “Based on the description given to police by the witness, a suspect was arrested nearby.”

A 31-year-old Vancouver man has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

“The family left before police arrived, so they were never identified,” adds Constable Visintin. “We are asking them to call police so we can advance the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 604-717-4022.
