Darpan News Desk, 06 Feb, 2017 12:00 PM
The VPD’s Major Crime Section is appealing for the public’s help to solve the Wednesday night homicide in Stanley Park.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to the Stanley Park seawall, between Second and Third Beach, after a citizen found a man suffering from apparent stab wounds. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man deceased.

That man has now been identified as a 61-year-old Vancouver resident Lubomir “Lubo” Kunik.

Detectives want to speak with anyone who knows Lubo, or who had any contact with him leading up to his death on Wednesday night. The VPD are also asking for anyone who was on the Stanley Park seawall between English Bay and Prospect Point on Wednesday night, between 8 and 11 p.m., to call detectives at 604-717-2500.

Anyone who has information about this crime can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
