Starting today, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation is reducing the amount of water used at parks and green spaces to conserve drinking water.
The board says all aesthetic water features including ponds and fountains will be turned off and park lawns will not be watered.
It says community vegetable gardens can be watered at any time and water features such as spray parks and wading pools will remain operational.
The move comes as the unseasonably warm and dry start to the summer in the region means reservoir levels are being protected from further depletion.
