Vancouver man found dead in burned vehicle in Langley, death connected to gang conflict

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Jul, 2021 12:06 PM
  • Vancouver man found dead in burned vehicle in Langley, death connected to gang conflict

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim found inside a burning truck as being connected to an ongoing gang conflict in British Columbia's Lower Mainland.

Police say in a statement it's believed the incident was targeted and the victim was 36-year-old Christopher Roy of Vancouver.

In a news release, police say Langley RCMP responded to a call about a vehicle fire last Tuesday around 7 p.m. and found Roy's body inside after the fire was extinguished.

Police have said they're interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen a "distinct" red F-150 truck with body-kit modifications.

Police are appealing to the public for information and say they are releasing Roy's name in order to advance their investigation.

Sgt. David Lee says there are associates of Roy who knew of his activities before his death and police are asking those people to come forward.
