Vancouver home prices rose slightly from June to July

Home prices in the Greater Vancouver Area rose slightly between June and July to just over 1.2-million-dollars.
The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver says that was due to strong sales figures and few listed homes.
Sales last month were running 15.6 per cent below the 10-year seasonal average which the board attributes to the Bank of Canada's steep interest rate hikes.
New teams are being funded for Abbotsford, Port Coquitlam/Coquitlam, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Penticton, Vernon, Squamish, Prince Rupert and the Westshore on southern Vancouver Island. Similar programs already exist in 10 B.C. communities including Kamloops, Victoria, Surrey and Vancouver.
Investigators say they seized four thousand pot plant, kilos of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, as well as handguns, three sawed-off shotguns, a rifle, and a dozen other firearms that were "lawfully possessed."

R-C-M-P say the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon when a male approached a female stranger as she walked along the sidewalk and swung at her, grabbed her hair and spit at her. The Mounties say several bystanders jumped in to help the victim who suffered minor injuries.
