Vancouver Fire Crews Battle Large Blaze At Granville Gardens Building

  • Vancouver Fire Crews Battle Large Blaze At Granville Gardens Building

VANCOUVER - Vancouver's assistant fire chief says it's too early to confirm whether a blaze that ripped through an unoccupied assisted-living facility was suspicious.

Ron Coulson says the fire broke out at Granville Gardens Friday evening, producing flames that shot 15 metres into the air.

He says 35 to 40 firefighters and four ladder trucks were sent in to battle the blaze from all angles.

Coulson says the building was still under construction, and there was no one inside when the fire erupted.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
