Vancouver Cyclist Critically Injured After Colliding With Second Bike

    VANCOUVER — A cyclist has been severely injured after colliding with another bicyclist in Vancouver.
     
    Const. Jason Doucette issued a release saying the 62-year-old man was riding behind a 64-year-old Vancouver woman when she stopped for a traffic light.
     
    At around 9:45 p.m. yesterday evening, a man and a woman were riding their bikes together north on Yukon Street when the woman stopped for the traffic light at West 7th Avenue. 
     
    Unfortunately, the man was not able to stop in time and he crashed into the woman before landing on the ground. Neither rider was wearing a helmet.
     
    A BC Ambulance Supervisor was near the intersection at the time of the collision and immediately provided medical assistance. Both cyclists were transported to hospital. 
     
    Doucette says both were rushed to hospital, where the woman was treated for minor injuries but the man remains in critical condition.
