U.S. Inmate Who Failed To Return To Transitional Living Facility Arrested In Canada

The Canadian Press, 28 Jul, 2015 12:12 PM
MANCHESTER, N.H. — New Hampshire authorities say they have found two inmates — one of them in Canada — who left a transitional living facility in Manchester last week.

Both inmates left for work from Calumet House on and never returned.

Corrections officials say 43-year-old Charles Namiot and 41-year-old Bruno Martin were nearing their parole dates and were placed at the facility to get a job, earn money and transition back into the community.

Corrections spokesman Jeff Lyons said Tuesday Martin was apprehended Sunday by the Canadian Border Patrol after he crossed the border between the Lacolle and Champlain entry points in New York.

Authorities are looking at extradition options.

Namiot was found in Manchester and was brought to the state prison in Concord.

Namiot is serving 2-8 years for armed robbery and Martin is serving 2-4 years for burglary.
