TORBAY, N.L. — A teenager in Newfoundland and Labrador is garnering a lot of support after pushing back against online bullies.

Lynelle Cantwell of Torbay says she discovered her name on a poll posted on the website ask.fm called 'Ugliest Girls in Grade 12.'

The anonymous poll sought to rank the girls based on their appearance and allowed people to leave anonymous comments.

To the person that made the "ugliest girls in grade 12 at hth" ask.FM straw poll. I'm sorry that your life is so...

Posted by Lynelle Cantwell on Tuesday, 1 December 2015
The Grade 12 student took to Facebook to say she feels sorry for the people who created the poll, adding that she was sorry they are so miserable that they to try and bring others down.

She says in her message that because people don't look perfect on the outside, doesn't mean they are ugly.

The post has generated more than 2,500 shares on Facebook with people calling Cantwell an inspiration for speaking out against the bullies.
