Two Well-Known B.C. Gang Associates Sentenced For Role In Drug Operation

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 12 Jan, 2016 11:50 AM
VANCOUVER — Police say a well-known B.C. gang associate whose rap sheet includes the attempted murder of two officers is returning to prison.

Thirty-four-year-old Isaac Drennan has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and firearms charges and has been sentenced to seven years in prison, but will serve five because of his time spent in pre-trial custody.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement says Drennan's associate, 34-year-old Dustin Wadsworth, has been found guilty of trafficking and breach of a court order and handed a two-year jail sentence.

Police said previously that officers found heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and a handgun during an Oct. 9, 2014 search of Drennan's residence in Esquimalt, B.C.

They say they also found $58,000 in cash, ecstasy, a drug-cutting agent, scales and a GPS tracking device during an October 2014 search of Wadsworth's Vancouver home.

Drennan was previously convicted of attempted murder after an officer in New Westminster was shot in the leg and another was hit in the body armour in March 2003.

Police say Drennan and Wadsworth are well-known to police for associating with gangs.
