VANCOUVER — A 36-year-old Vernon man has been identified as the victim of a single vehicle crash on Highway 95 south of Golden in southeastern B.C.
The coroners service says Michael Swanson was driving a small commercial truck early on Oct. 30, when it swerved down an embankment and rolled, killing him at the scene.
RCMP, WorkSafeBC and the coroner are investigating the cause of the crash.
Mounties on Vancouver Island are working with Transport Canada and other officials after a small plane crashed into the Puntledge River near the Courtenay Airpark on Monday.
Comox Valley RCMP were called to the scene and found the plane floating in the river while two occupants were safely on shore.
Crews from the Department of Fisheries and B.C.'s Environment Ministry were also called to handle any environmental concerns, while an investigation is underway into why the plane went down.
