Two Police Officers Injured During Arrest In Victoria, B.C.

The Canadian Press, 23 May, 2018 10:55 AM
VICTORIA — Two police officers have suffered non-life threatening injuries during an arrest in Victoria, B.C.

The Victoria Police Department says patrol officers were called to a residential building in the city's downtown on Sunday after a man reportedly tried to kick in the door of a suite.

Police say in a news release that after the officers found the suspect in another suite, he ran at them and was taken to the ground, but continued to fight.

They say a woman in the suite was also arrested after she tried to stop police from taking the man into custody.

The injured officers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and did not return to work.

Police say they are recommending charges of obstruction, uttering threats and drug possession be laid against the suspects.
