Darpan News Desk, 01 Oct, 2019 07:27 PM

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a reported assault of a male and female by two males armed with baseball bats, resulting in both victims needing to be hospitalised. The incident was reported at approximately 1 pm on Saturday September 28th, 2019 and took place near Divers Lake, off of Labieux Road.

Police were alerted to the altercation after the female victim went to a local business and told an employee she and her male friend had been in their tent, when two unidentified males showed up carrying bats then proceeded to assault both of them.

The 39-year-old female told police she did not recognize either of the two males, who were seen driving an newer model orange car.
