Two people arrested in Ottawa mall shooting released without charge

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Dec, 2014 06:53 AM

OTTAWA — Two people arrested in connection with a Boxing Day shooting at a shopping mall in Ottawa`s west end have been released without charge.

Police, however, are still looking for two suspects after a man was wounded in the foot in the outdoor area of the Tanger Outlets mall.

The victim's injury is described as minor, and police say he is not co-operating with investigators.

The shooting, which happened outside a shoe store, sent frightened shoppers and employees ducking for cover.

Management of the mall closed early Friday to give store employees a chance to decompress from the incident.

Police say witnesses are being interviewed and investigators will be going through any available surveillance footage of the shooting.
