Two More Warrants For Drug Ring Operating From Chilliwack To Fort St. John, B.C.

The Canadian Press, 27 May, 2016 12:44 PM
  • Two More Warrants For Drug Ring Operating From Chilliwack To Fort St. John, B.C.
VANCOUVER — Arrest warrants have been issued for two more men allegedly connected to a drug trafficking ring that police say stretches across British Columbia.

A release from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, which targets organized crime in B.C., says 21-year old Le Hoang-Duy Vo and 27-year old Andrew Vithna Va each face a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Investigators say the two were identified after police searched a vehicle near Fort St. John in May 2015 and seized more than three kilograms of powdered cocaine and crack cocaine, along with $138,000 in cash.

That bust followed searches of five Chilliwack properties in February 2015 that led to the seizure of drugs, including fentanyl, valued at more than $2-million, as well as the recovery of numerous firearms and over $200,000 cash.

In February 2016, the CFSEU announced more than 50 charges had been laid against five Chilliwack men accused of operating a Fraser Valley-based crime cell that trafficked drugs primarily in B.C.'s north.

Charges against the men include possessing a prohibited device and multiple counts of trafficking.
