CALGARY — Two men are dead after an overnight shooting outside a Calgary restaurant
Emergency crews were called to the northeast area shortly after 2 a.m. following reports of shots being fired.
Police say one man died at the scene and the second person died in hospital.
They say the shooting was not random.
Witnesses report seeing another vehicle leaving the area and investigators are checking surveillance footage from nearby businesses.
No one has been arrested.
The federal NDP is losing another incumbent, as Quebec MP Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet says she will not be seeking re-election later this year.
"We are looking at what can be done within our system to give this family a little solace in a time of unbelievable tragedy," the prime minister said after a funding announcement in Halifax.
