Traffic Stop Yields Cocaine Seizure In Kelowna

    A man faces potential charges after police seize cocaine during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
     
    On June 14, 2016 at 1:41 am, a Kelowna Mountie performed a traffic stop with a Cadillac Escalade in the area of Abbott Street and Bernard Avenue downtown. 
     
    The officer observed contents inside the vehicle which resulted in the driver being arrested for possession of a controlled substance. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 3.5 grams of suspected cocaine, along with various items consistent with illegal drug use and trafficking.
     
    The driver, a 58-year-old Kelowna man, was held in police custody. He was expected to appear in Court today facing potential charges of possession of a controlled substance.
