Toronto's Ryerson University Seeks Guinness World Record For Bubble Gum Blowing

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Sep, 2016 11:48 AM
TORONTO — It's a record that could stick.

A Toronto university says its students, faculty and staff have unofficially broken the Guinness World Record for the most people blowing a chewing gum bubble simultaneously.

Ryerson University says 1,203 people — mostly first-year students — gathered on Wednesday afternoon for the record attempt.

The participants blew chewing gum bubbles en masse for over two minutes, unofficially breaking the previous record that was set in Spain by 737 people on Sept. 27, 2014.

Guinness World Records officials are expected to confirm Ryerson's unofficial record in the coming weeks.

It's Ryerson's 10th annual Guinness World Record challenge.

Previous challenges included the most people simultaneously yo-yoing, the most people controlling paddle balls, the largest cowbell ensemble, and the largest soul train dance.
