Toronto Driver Busted For Driving In HOV Lane With 2 Mannequins In Tow

The Canadian Press, 09 Jul, 2015 09:50 AM

TORONTO - Police say a Toronto driver has been charged after getting caught travelling in a marked HOV lane with two mannequins.

An officer spotted the vehicle on the Gardiner Expressway at about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the truck initially appeared to have three people inside — the requirement for travelling in the lane until July 27 because of Pan Am games traffic.

But officers say the passengers did not seem lifelike and pulled the vehicle over, only to realize they were not people, but dressed mannequins.

Officers say the driver was charged with the appropriate HOV offence — but at least everyone in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
