  • Three vehicle collision lands 2 in hospital: Maple Ridge RCMP

Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded overnight to a collision involving 3 vehicles.

On June 7, 2021, at approximately 11:30 pm, police received a request from BC Ambulance Services to attend and assist at an incident in the 28300 Block of Lougheed Highway regarding a motor vehicle collision involving 3 cars.

As a result of the crash, one vehicle ended up approximately 20 meters down an embankment trapping the driver inside. RCMP’s Air 1 attended and assisted with locating the vehicle. Maple Ridge Fire department attended and was able to extricate the man safely from the vehicle.

Mission RCMP assisted with road closures for several hours on Lougheed Highway while Police were investigating the incident. One person was transported to hospital via BC Air Ambulance while another person was transported via BC Ambulance Services. Both had non-life-threatening injuries. One man was able to leave the scene without any injuries.

The investigation is in the early stages but police will be looking at factors such as speed, weather conditions and if any of the vehicles crossed center lines. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision at this time.

This investigation is still ongoing and there are no further details available at this time.
