  • Three suspects arrested due to bear spray incident in New Westminster

On August 12th at 10:30pm the New Westminster Police received a 9-1-1 call from a park user claiming that a group of people had accosted her and someone pointed a can of bear repellent spray at her.

Via release, police officers attended Moody Park and found three individuals matching the suspect descriptions who were arrested. A replica handgun and two cans of bear repellent spray were recovered from the individuals.

The New Westminster Police Department is reminding the public that if anyone’s behavior ever makes them feel unsafe while enjoying one of New Westminster’s parks, to please call 9-1-1.
