Thieves Assault, Rob, Terminally Ill Cancer Patient In B.C.'s Southern Interior

    SICAMOUS, B.C. — Police in British Columbia's southern Interior are investigating a home invasion in which a woman with terminal cancer suffered a broken nose when she was kicked in the face.
     
     
    RCMP say in a release that officers responded Wednesday to a report of violence in the Shuswap community of Sicamous.
     
     
    Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, a police spokesman, says while a female suspect remained outside, two men with handguns forced their way into the home in what investigators believe was a targeted attack.
     
     
    He says the 59-year-old unnamed woman was held at gunpoint and tied up before she was assaulted.
     
     
    The suspects fled with two small safes, jewelry and prescription drugs, then drove away in a white 2003 Ford dually pickup truck stolen earlier in the day in the community of Armstrong.
     
     
    Moskaluk says the woman was treated in hospital while a search continues for the three suspects who are considered armed and dangerous.
