Mounties in Nanaimo say a text message scam is making its way through the community claiming drivers owe money for speeding in a school zone.
Investigators say the bogus text was received by dozens of individuals throughout the Okanagan.
Constable Gary O’Brien says the grift directs people to a website where the criminals will then try to steal their credit card numbers.
O’Brien says people should delete the text message and warn their friends and family to ignore it as well
