Ten Of 11 People Taken Into Custody After Shooting In Surrey Have Been Released

Darpan News Desk, 11 Dec, 2019 09:19 PM

Surrey RCMP is providing an update to the investigation of a shooting which occurred in the early morning hours of December 7, 2019.

The investigation began just before 5:00 am on December 7, 2019 when Surrey RCMP Frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired into a residence in the 10800 block of 139A Street.

As a result of this incident, eleven people were taken into custody by police. Ten of those people were released pending further investigation and one man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at a second residence on 139A Street where four firearms, two Tasers, a quantity of drugs, and other weapons were located and seized.

Early indications show that this was a targeted incident resulting from a dispute between parties known to one another. While there was a risk to the public at the time of the shooting, there are no indications of an on-going risk to the public as a result of this incident.

The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has taken conduct of this investigation and is asking anyone with further information regarding this incident to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
