Teen In Philadelphia Questioned Over Threats Aimed At Vancouver Airport

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 24 Dec, 2015 04:50 PM
RICHMOND, B.C. — Threats directed towards Vancouver International Airport earlier this week now involve the Homeland Security Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department.

RCMP said on Monday they had received a threat via the social media platform Twitter, although the incident didn't impact operations at the airport.

Officers from the department's technological crimes unit and the airport's police detachment began working with colleagues from the United States.

Once investigators zeroed in on Philadelphia, they contacted the department's homeland security team for help.

RCMP Cpl. Dennis Hwang says a 16-year-old man is under investigation.

Hwang wouldn't disclose the nature of the threats, but says they were found to be not credible.
