Tech summit coming to Vancouver

Global technology conference Web Summit is headed to Vancouver next May.

Destination Vancouver says it expects the event to generate 172-million dollars in direct spending and 279-million dollars in overall economic impact for B-C over three years.

Other versions of Web Summit have taken place in Portugal, Brazil and Qatar and the same organizers are behind the Collision event Toronto has hosted since 2019.

But organizers say Web Summit Vancouver will take the place of Collision, which is being held in Toronto next week.

The crash that killed the adult bear, nicknamed Nakoda, happened on Thursday about 12 hours after the two cubs were struck and killed on the highway in southeast B.C. that morning. 28 year old shot in South Surrey identified as Yuvraj Goyal

According to IHIT, 28-year-old Yuvraj Goyal, who was shot to death in South Surrey on Friday, had no history of police contact. He was employed at car dealership in Surrey. Goyal came to Canada nearly 6 years ago as an International student.
