The RCMP say a school teacher in Delta, B.C., has been charged with child pornography offences.
The Mounties say their investigation began more than a year ago in March 2019 when they received an alert from an electronic service provider alleging that an account user was in possession of child pornography.
In a news release, the RCMP says its Internet Child Exploitation Unit conducted an extensive review and forensic analysis of the evidence.
Investigators say no children from the Lower Mainland have been identified as potential victims, but anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Police say Elazar Reshef, who is 52 and from Surrey, has been charged with three counts of child pornography related offences.
The RCMP say it is releasing the information publicly because the accused has been in direct contact with children during his work as a teacher in the Delta school district.
The police department says it is releasing information about the case in the interest of public safety and to further the investigation.
