SUV allegedly rams into police car

Police in Surrey say they arrested a man yesterday for ramming a police vehicle.

Surrey Mounties say they got a call about a suspicious vehicle around 146 Street and 108 Avenue, and the driver of a Ford S-U-V allegedly hit a police vehicle as it fled from officers.

Surrey R-C-M-P says the S-U-V also hit another vehicle that was stopped and later drove into oncoming traffic as police were in pursuit.

Mounties say they found the S-U-V at King George and 108 Avenue, and the driver ran away on foot before being hit with a Taser and arrested, facing potential charges of flight from police, dangerous driving and assaulting police officers

Police in West Vancouver say two people are dead after a head-on crash along Highway 1 that blocked access to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. They say a vehicle travelling east in the westbound lanes near Westport Road caused the collision at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday night.
