  • 'Suspicious Package' Found In Surrey Parking Lot: RCMP

AT about 12:40 p.m. on February 1, Surrey RCMP received report of a suspicious package that was located in the parking lot of King’s Cross Shopping Center in the 7400-block of King George Boulevard.


Surrey RCMP frontline members attended and cordoned off the area. Investigators examined the package and ordered a full evacuation of the nearby Michael’s department store out of an abundance of caution. The area was closed off to the general public.


The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit was called in. It was confirmed the package did not pose a threat to the public. A part of the shopping complex was closed as a precautionary measure for some time.
