Suspect Arrested In Fort Langley On Warrants Stretching From B.C. To Ontario

The Canadian Press, 18 Nov, 2015 10:41 AM
LANGLEY, B.C. — RCMP in Langley, B.C., have arrested a man wanted on several outstanding warrants dating back more than four years and issued by authorities in communities in B.C. and Ontario.

Matthew Ostrander was arrested last Friday when Mounties received a report of someone sleeping in a home under construction in Fort Langley, east of Vancouver.

Cpl. Holly Largy says several items were seized during the arrest, leading police to an unreported break-in that had occurred nearby, just hours earlier.

Officers also discovered outstanding warrants issued in Langley and Duncan, B.C., earlier this year.

Further checks revealed warrants from Quinte West, Ont., for firearms offences in October 2012 and warrants for mischief, threats and breach of probation from Belleville, Ont., in 2011.

Ostrander now faces two new counts of break and enter linked to offences around Metro Vancouver this fall, and remains in custody awaiting a court date Nov. 20.
