Suspect Arrested After Pair Of Hit-And-Run Crashes In Surrey

    ON Monday, November 18, at approximately 7:50 a.m., a Surrey RCMP officer engaged a vehicle for a traffic stop at 128A Street and 111th Avenue. The traffic stop was terminated by the officer when the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and fled onto Scott Road.


    The vehicle was subsequently involved in two collisions. Following the second collision, the driver of the vehicle fled on foot near Scott Road and 100th Avenue, and was arrested nearby with the assistance of the Integrated Police Dog Services.


    Two people were injured in the collisions and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect remains in custody at this time.


    Surrey RCMP have notified the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia of the incident and they are currently reviewing to determine if it meets their threshold for investigation.
