Surrey Woman, 46, Charged With Assault After Allegedly Punching People On Skytrain

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 20 Feb, 2016 11:21 AM
VANCOUVER — A Surrey, B.C., woman has been charged after she allegedly assaulted two people on the SkyTrain.

Transit Police say 46-year-old Tamara Robertson appeared to be intoxicated and was drinking alcohol when she got on the train Wednesday afternoon.

Police allege Robertson punched a woman who told her to stop harassing a group of deaf and hard of hearing students and then blocked the path of a 71-year-old man who tried to get off the train.

Police say Robertson also punched him in the face when he asked her to move out of the doorway.

The female victim suffered a concussion and a black eye, and the man had swelling and bruising to his nose.

Robertson was arrested soon afterwards and has been charged with two counts of assault.
