Surrey Truck Driver Injured In Explosion

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 09 Dec, 2016 12:52 PM
Surrey RCMP is currently investigating a suspicious occurrence involving a single vehicle in the Cloverdale area of Surrey.

On December 5th, Surrey RCMP was called after damage to a single vehicle was believed to be suspicious. Initially, a vehicle near 184th Street and 60th Avenue experienced a significant malfunction believed to be mechanical in nature.

It was later discovered that the damage to the single vehicle was possibly caused by a localized explosion.

The investigation is now being led by the Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit with help from the Integrated Forensic Identification Service and the Explosive Disposal Unit.

Police continue to examine the vehicle and have returned to the area where the damage initially occurred to conduct another search for evidence and determine the cause of the incident after the recent heavy snow fall. Officers will be canvassing the surrounding area for surveillance video and any potential witnesses who may have seen something suspicious.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
