Surrey Sting: 13 Arrested For Drugs And Weapons Offences

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Mar, 2015 02:04 PM

SURREY, B.C. — Over a dozen people face a total of 66 drug and firearm charges after months-long investigation by RCMP in Surrey, B.C.

One of the accused, Sephon Sek, is out bail awaiting trial on manslaughter and breaking and entering charges in connection to his alleged role in the gang slayings of six people in Surrey in 2007.

Police say they seized firearms, cash and large quantities of drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and oxycodone.

Eight of the 13 people charged have been arrested while warrants have been issued for five others.

RCMP Insp. Wade Lynburner, the officer in charge of property crime and drugs, says those who traffic in illicit drugs destroy lives, homes and communities and the Surrey RCMP is fully committed to disrupting those criminal activities.

Two of the accused, who face allegations of trafficking and firearms charges, can't be named because of their young age.
