Surrey RCMP Seek This Man In ‘Road Rage’ Stabbing Incident

The Canadian Press, 10 May, 2016 10:40 AM
Surrey Police are asking for help from the public to identify the suspect in what appears to be a road rage incident that ended with a stabbing on the weekend.

"What started as a simple traffic incident quickly escalated into a life-threatening situation for the victim," said Cpl. Scotty Schumann.

Police tell several witnesses phoned 911 reporting "road rage" involving two vehicles on 72nd Avenue near 121st Street in Newton at 3:30 p.m. PT on Sunday.

The victim was punched by the male suspect in a parking lot near the intersection, say police.

RCMP say the suspect then attacked the victim again and stabbed him.

The victim collapsed, and the suspect was last seen fleeing on foot near the intersection of 75th Avenue and 121st Street.

The suspect is described as having:

    Dark hair.
    Dark beard.
Wearing black shoes, blue jeans and a white tank top.
    Driving a Mazda 3 hatchback.

"When faced with a 'road rage' incident, stay calm and call police when it's safe and you're able to pull over," said Schumann.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
