Surrey RCMP Seek More Victims After 2 Men Charged With Sexual Interference Involving Teen Girls

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Jan, 2016 12:22 PM
Surrey RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance to identify other potential witnesses and/or victims in order to advance an ongoing sexual interference investigation.

In August 2015, police began investigating an allegation of two adult males having sexual intercourse with two young teenage girls. The Surrey RCMP’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) spearheaded the investigation which eventually led to charges being recommended by police and approved by Crown Counsel.

Now charged with one count of sexual interference is Shahin Bouziane (20 years old, from Burnaby) and Brodie Clements (23 years old, from Surrey). Both men have been released from custody with strict conditions.

Bouziane’s conditions include no contact with persons under the age of 16 except in the company of the child’s parent or guardian, curfews to remain at home between the hours of 10:00pm and 6:00am except with permission from a bail supervisor, and abstain from the consumption of alcohol.

Clements’ conditions include not attending public parks or pools where persons under the age of 16 can be expected to be present, not being in a position of trust or authority towards persons under the age of 16, not to communicate with persons under the age of 16 using a computer system, no contact with persons under the age of 16 except in the company of the child’s parent or guardian, and curfews to remain at home between the hours of 10:00pm and 5:00am except with permission from a bail supervisor.

Although charges have been laid against both men, Surrey RCMP SVU continues to investigate this file, says Cpl. Schumann. Police believe there are more witnesses and or victims who have not come forward to date and are releasing photos of the suspects in order to advance the investigation.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and ask for Surrey RCMP SVU Corporal Brigette Saundry quoting file #2015-116304.
