On August 17, 2023, at approximately 5:47 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a male with stab wounds in the 10200-block of King George Boulevard. The male victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has been actively working to identify two males who are believed to be involved in this incident. Although a motive has not yet been identified, it appears to have been a targeted incident.

At the time of the incident, suspect one was wearing a black t-shirt, beige pants and white shoes. He has visible tattoos on both arms.

Suspect two was wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans, black/white runners and carrying a black bag. This suspect has a visible tattoo on his left hand.

We are releasing photos of two men believed to be involved in this serious assault, as we believe someone will recognize them says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Corporal Vanessa Munn. We encourage anyone with information that can assist with advancing the ongoing investigation, to contact police.

While the Ministry of Children and Family Development did not provide the names or the number of people involved, it said in a statement "the staff who were directly involved in this case are no longer employed by the ministry." The statement said ministry staff did not follow its policy that children in care should be seen regularly by a social worker.

Searchers look for B.C. teen missing in provincial park since Tuesday
RCMP say 16-year-old Esther Wang from Langley, B.C., was part of a group of four people who were hiking in Golden Ears Provincial Park on Tuesday.  The group left a lookout point at about 2:45 p.m. to head back to their campground and about 15 minutes later they noticed that Wang was missing.
