Surrey RCMP launches new tool to spread awareness about gang violence

  • Surrey RCMP launches new tool to spread awareness about gang violence

R-C-M-P in Surrey are using a new tool to educate young people about gang violence in the hopes of discouraging their involvement in them.

Officers from the Mounties' gang enforcement team will be sharing a new video specifically created for Surrey youth during school presentations.

The video features a person who spent 12 years in prison for second-degree murder after getting involved with gangs, as well as a mother who lost her son to gang violence.

The goal is to show youth the reality of joining gangs and the consequences they will face in doing so.
