Surrey Police Pursuit Through Five Communities Nets Two Suspects In West Vancouver

The Canadian Press, 27 Nov, 2015 12:36 PM
SURREY, B.C. — Two suspects who allegedly led police on a high-speed pursuit from Surrey to West Vancouver have been arrested.

Surrey RCMP say that at about 1 a.m. on Thursday patrol officers noticed two people in a 2000 Honda Civic stolen from Port Coquitlam.

Police say the driver struck a police cruiser as he escaped the area and headed westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway.

West Vancouver police eventually stopped the vehicle using a tire-deflation device before arresting the two occupants.

Assistant Commissioner Dan Malo, head of the RCMP in the Lower Mainland, says the two suspects travelled through five communities and could face serious charges.

The 25-year-old driver from Maple Ridge is known to police, as is his 23-year-old female passenger from Coquitlam, who is under investigation for possession of a stolen vehicle.
