The latest facility to declare a COVID-19 outbreak in the Lower Mainland is Surrey Memorial Hospital. On Tuesday Sept 1st a patient from the nephrology unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital tested positive for COVID-19.

Surrey Memorial is working with staff and patients to identify anyone who may have been exposed.

Enhanced infection prevention and control measures are in place. The unit is not accepting new patients or visitors at this time.

Cleaning measures have been enhanced and personal protective equipment continues to be used as appropriate.

All unit patients and staff are being monitored for symptoms.
