Surrey Man Wanted In Connection With Violent Domestic Assault

Darpan News Desk , 24 Aug, 2017 11:06 AM
Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted after an alleged domestic assault incident in the Newton area of Surrey.

On June 8th, 2017, Surrey RCMP was called to the 7500 block of 149A Street by the victim of a domestic assault. The woman had been held at knifepoint, pushed in the face, and threatened with more violence. The suspect, Linton MCLEISH, fled scene and has not yet been located.

Surrey RCMP Domestic Violence Unit is leading the investigation. A warrant for MCLEISH’s arrest has been issued after a charge of Assault with a Weapon was laid.

MCLEISH is described as a 38 year old black male, 5’9, 190 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.

Domestic violence is rarely a single incident, says Corporal Scotty Schumann. There is always a high likelihood that the violence will become more frequent and more severe over time. It’s important that if anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. MCLEISH that they contact police right away.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502. If they wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
