Surrey Man Sarbjit Bains Pleads Guilty To Killing Three People Including Amritpal Saran

Darpan News Desk, 02 Apr, 2015 05:07 PM

SURREY, B.C. — Homicide investigators say a 34-year-old man from Surrey, B.C., has pleaded guilty in the killings of three people.

Amritpal Saran was found dead on a rural Surrey road in February 2013, and Jill Lyons and Karen Nabors were found dead weeks apart in their New Westminster apartments later that August.

Sarbjit Bains was arrested and charged in connection with their deaths in January 2014.

Sgt. Stephanie Ashton, of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, says the man has now pleaded guilty to Saran's manslaughter and the second-degree murders of the two women.

She says the man's girlfriend has already been sentenced to two years in jail for an indignity to Saran's remains.

Supt. Dwayne McDonald says the guilty pleas are a testament to the officer's professionalism, and the public is now safe from Bains.
