Surrey Man Arrested On Several Warrants, Including Kidnapping

Darpan, 08 Jul, 2016 01:03 PM
Surrey RCMP advises that they have arrested a male suspect wanted on numerous outstanding warrants.

Jason LINDGREN, a 33 year old Surrey resident, was taken into custody earlier this morning after he was located in the South Surrey area.

On July 6th at approximately 1:50am, Surrey RCMP located LINDGREN and his vehicle in the 1600 block of 154th Street. Surrey RCMP General Duty and Gang Enforcement Team officers converged on the area, with the assistance of the Integrated Police Dog Services, and located the vehicle attempting to exit an underground parking garage.

A high risk arrest ensued and the suspect was taken into police custody. LINDGREN was subsequently taken to hospital with minor injuries.

LINDGREN is currently a Provincial parolee facing Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Recognizance charges, as well as the following charges out of Maple Ridge: Kidnapping, Forcible Confinement, Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Pointing a Firearm.

Investigators are working together and believe more charges will be forthcoming regarding his capture in Surrey.

This latest arrest is another example of the progress being made to safely remove such dangerous and high risk offenders from Lower Mainland communities, says Surrey RCMP Inspector Shawna Baher, Proactive Enforcement Officer.

The expediency with which this arrest was affected is a direct result of the coordination amongst multiple police agencies working together to minimize risk and enhance public safety throughout the region.
